APU Industrial Design Workshops
The Industrial Design Workshops at APU is a fully equipped, hands-on learning space designed to support the development of creative ideas into tangible products. As an integral part of the design learning experience, the workshop enables students to explore the complete design process - from concept development to prototyping and fabrication.
The workshop provides a safe and structured environment where students can work with a variety of tools, materials, and techniques to bring their ideas to life. Through guided practice and project-based learning, students gain practical skills in model making, product development, and material exploration, allowing them to better understand form, function, and usability.
Equipped with industry-relevant tools and machinery, the facility supports a wide range of fabrication processes, enabling students to experiment with different materials and production methods. This hands-on approach enhances creativity while reinforcing technical precision and craftsmanship.
The Industrial Design Workshops is closely integrated with APU’s design studios and digital facilities, allowing students to seamlessly transition from digital design to physical prototyping. By combining traditional making techniques with modern design tools, students develop a well-rounded skill set aligned with current industry practices.
3D Printing Labs – Equipped with advanced 3D printers to help you prototype quickly, test functionality, and refine your designs.
Model Making Studio – Dedicated zones for physical modelling and sculpting, helping you develop form, ergonomics, and aesthetics.
Sketching Workshop – Comfortable areas for technical drawings, conceptual sketches, and idea exploration before prototyping.
At APU, Industrial Design goes beyond the workshop. Students use the Industrial Design Workshops to turn ideas into real products, participate in exhibitions, and tackle practical design challenges.
